Family pics at Wheeler Farm

Yesterday we did our annual Wheeler Farm family pic session.

It was much less painful than other years have been. We didn't take as much time as we usually do, so maybe we didn't allow it to get past the kids' threshold.

I don't actually have any of the pictures, so I'll let Tree put some up here.

It's a great place to do the pics, and the kids love the ducks and other animals there.

Kage had to go potty four times and didn't always make it in time, so that added to the day too.

All in all, a great day.

happiest place on earth? if you're a kid....

The girls just got back from disneyland.. they were there for 5 days and missed 3 days of school... it's like the bestest ever...
They had a great time!

Back to school, finally!

Yes, the kids are back in school. And I am glad. Really glad. Not for the reason you might think. Many parents are happy to see their kids go back to school to get them out of the house. Not me. I am at work when they are in school or not at school, anyway.

I am happy because back to school means that summer is over! Those of you who know me know that summer is my least favorite season. I like the cold. I hang out all summer waiting for basketball to come back to a TV near me (not mine, cause we don't have TV). I have been waiting all summer for new episodes of The Office on Hulu.

Football - good. Snow - good. Changing leaves, no mosquitoes, using the fireplace, and footy jammies on the little ones - good.

Summer? Meh... not so much.

today....my today

up at 5:45 am to get to work by 7.... work til 4:30, home at 5..

6:15 pm.. 3 kids in the tub, dinner started, looking for the dog while watering the plants, cleaning house....working on my lesson...

7:15 pm... making a bottle, holding a baby, putting mondays laundry away, waiting for dinner to be done...

9:56 pm... 2 babies down, 1 to go... 3rd time telling older kids to get dressed for Martial Arts...

10:19 pm.. hook up sewing machine, load "Lie to me" on Hulu... get my mending on...

11:52 pm looking for blanket for Race so he can sleep in the loft..

12:10 am computer has had it... keeps freezing up......so i guess i'm done for the night...

Get a CLUE

We played Simpson's Clue last night. It was pretty dang fun. Mom won the first game by clever deduction and wiley wit. I won the second game by letting everyone else guess wrong till I was the only one left. I think that's what happened... Or did Keeley win? She was the second to last one in. I just can't remember if her guess was right and she won, or her guess was wrong I that left me the winner. Oh, well... It was fun, that's all I remember.

oops... i forgot to mention....

Kynz got her braces off in June... so woot woot! She wears upper & lower retainers but not more brace-face for her!

Kaygee Turns 2!!!

He walked around all day today saying "birthday, birthday, birthday"...
we did all of his favorites today...
lunch, snack, nap, snack, dinner, park, bubbles, cake, presents, playtime, bedtime...

 

 

Summer is here. Where'd all the kids go?

Now that summer is here and kids are out of school, I figured they'd be home helping with babies, making a mess, driving mom crazy, and generally running amuck. But they have spent less time at home now that they are out of school than they did before.

Our family schedule has been totally turned upside down. It's tough to keep things going when the structure if school schedules goes away.

This will be good. Now is a good time to re-organize, re-evaluate, and re-commit.

baby firsts...first smile, first step, first word,

teenage firsts...first car, first date, first broken heart....

babys firsts are also their parents firsts, junior doesn't care about his first step, he cares more about the step after, and the one after that... the ones that lead him 8 or 10 feet from where he started,

teenagers firsts are not theirs alone either...

something isn't nothing...

okay... so i didn't make it long on the treadmill... 1 mile/4laps/ 107 calories/ 15 minutes...
I realised that it was bordering on unstable to have to walk on the treadmill... especially given the hour.. or it was Internet explorer stopped working and there goes Hulu....i mean hey i can walk, i can walk briskly... with a 5% incline...but I need a distraction..from walking.

come on... we're all neurotic...

..... i am thinking that walking on my treadmill at 11:30 at night, because i didn't get a chance to walk this morning.. is my neurotic tendency... the fact that i went up & down the stairs about 20 times today or chased after 2 toddlers, or did laundry or went to work and did everyone elses' running around doesn't count... its the miles/calories/distance on the treadmill that counts...

The Geegee lessons...

Kage has a tag along... it's his blanket which he calls Gee-gee... We've had some lessons on where gee-gee can and can't go... points we've covered.. Gee-gee doesn't go in the toilet, gee-gee doesn't go in the dogs bed, or the garbage... i didn't think to cover in the tub....
